Atherstone Yarnbombers Confirmed for Stonefest 2017.

Here at Stonefest we are extremely excited to announce that the amazingly talented Atherstone Yarnbombers; the group behind the magical and enthralling woolen clad bicycle, lovingly crafted for a display celebrating the bike race that ran through Atherstone a couple of months ago (pictured), the beautifully detailed car cozy featured at this years Atherstone Motor Show as well as other woolly additions to Atherstone that you may have come across on your travels around the town.

This was one of the first collaboration ideas we had when starting to plan what Stonefest would become, The wonderful folk who are part of the Atherstone yarnbombers create these fantastic pieces of artwork out of love for their craft. They spend time involving elderly members of our community in their projects by regularly visiting Bracebridge Court (Long-term residential care for the elderly) where the residents help to fabricate and piece together these detailed and unique pieces.

Stonefest is all about showcasing creativity and promoting community within Atherstone and the surrounding areas and we couldn't think of anyone better to help decorate the market square for our festival, adding to the whole atmosphere of the event and helping to make Stonefest: Creative Arts Festival, as magical and inspirational as possible.
